The Station Street Market is a result of work that has been done over the years as part of the Grow Oliver initiative which started as part of the Town’s 2016 Official Community Plan. It was identified that there was a need for a coordinated and strategic approach to economic development in Oliver. The plan also highlighted the need to support and revitalize Downtown Oliver, the historic and cultural heart of the community. Station Street is an important part of the downtown core with the Visitor Information Centre located there along with beautiful park space and easy access to the walking and biking trails. This area has been the subject of revitalization plans throughout the years with the future vision being an outdoor plaza and mixed use development. It has been years since Oliver has had a regular farmers' market and with the resurgence in popularity of outdoor markets and much interest being shown by the community, the decision was made to get things started again.
With support from the Town of Oliver, the South Okanagan Chamber team is working on the start up phase of the market and will open vendor applications shortly.
